When Damon Hill was announced as part of the on-screen team for Sky Sports F1, when the channel launched its 2012 Formula 1 talent line-up, he already had quite a body of television work behind him.

As far as straight Formula 1 TV work is concerned, Damon was an occasional commentator for ITV’s F1 coverage before Sky Sports took over. As part of the Sky Sports F1 team, he has taken on a variety of roles, including co-commentator, expert analyst/pundit, and presenter. He regularly gets to drive historic F1 cars in SKY Sports F1 features, particularly those relating to his and his father’s careers, and he also presents ‘F1 Explained’ and front and/or appears in other documentary-style specials looking back at the history of the sport. Damon is no longer involved with Sky but he was a key member of the SKY punditry team for many years.

In 2005 he appeared on Top Gear, duly producing the fastest time so far on the Dunsfold test track for the series’ popular ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ segment (the car being a Suzuki Liana). He has also appeared on This Is Your Life, TFI Friday, and Shooting Stars.

As well as having had the eyes of the world on him as a result of his on-track Formula 1 triumph in 1996, he drew wide acclaim for his cameo role in a Pizza Hut ad alongside the legendary television commentator, Murray Walker. Two years earlier he had played another cameo role, in an episode of the BBC TV show Harry Enfield and Chums.
